The mills used for cold-rolled strip steel include two-roll mills, four-roll mills, and multi-roll mills. The most widely used is the four-roll mill. With the increasing requirements for plate shape, many technologies for improving plate shape have been developed, such as bending roll technology, shifting roll technology, and cross rolling technology. Cold-rolled strip steel mills can be divided into two categories based on the arrangement of the stands: individual reversible or non-reversible types and multi-stand continuous types. The former is suitable for situations with a large proportion of various products and small batches, as it has low investment, quick plant setup, but low yield and higher metal consumption. Multi-stand continuous rolling is suitable for situations with relatively uniform or less variable product varieties, offering high production efficiency and large output, but with higher investment.
